Rialto Airport Dedication Tomorrow
June 9,1967
Rialto-Visiting dignitaries stirring music from two bands and a brillant display of daylight fireworks will add to dedication ceremonies beginning at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Rialto Municipal Airport.

Robert H. Finch, Lieutenant Governor of California, will make formal dedication of the recently acquired faciltiy at 11 a.m. following his introduction by Rialto Mayor Frank Lowell,master of ceremonies.

The Marine band from Twentynine Palms, and the 64 member varsity band from Eisenhower High School dressed in Kelly green uniforms and directed by Larry Thomas will present 30 minutes of music with a colorful display by Clipper Pryotechnics prior to the dedication.

Distinguished guests in addition to Lt. Gov. Finch will be Sen. William E. Coombs; Clyde Barnett,state director of aviation; Daniel Mikesell,chairman of the board of county supervisors; and Roy Outcen and Theodore A. Wendland Jr. of the Federal Aviation Administration, Los Angeles and Ontario.

Brig,Gen. Gilbert L. Curtis USAF, Commander 63rd Military Airlift Wing,Norton AFB and Brig. Gen. Regan Fuller,l USMC commanding, Marine Corps Base Twentynine Palms will also attend the ceremonies. Local and area leaders in financial public utility and manufacturing concerns are also to be honored guest.

Follwing Lt. Gov. Finch's dedication address, Barnett is to present a state permit for the airport to Mayor Lowell, who will in turn offere a key to the City of Rialto to Finch amid a final fainfare of fireworks and music.

After the dedication which will be attended also by the city fathers of Rialto, including the council members of the planning commission representative of the school district and civic and financial leaders. Western Helicopter Service Co. will hold open house at the airport for all guest and visitors. The U.S. Forest Service will funish a static display of equipment used in forest fire suppression.
Purchased in 1966 the airport boasts a 2,500 foot paved lighted runway and is the first step toward completion of an air oriented industrial park with an additional longer runway and about a sqaure mile of manufacturing and commercial zoned property.
