| Barry L. Farrell, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon T. Farrell, of 1446 Mt. Vernon Ave., San Bernardino, naval reservist recently arrived in Lima, Peru on a 16,000 miles cruise around Cape Horn on the USS Franklin D.
Roosevelt. With Farrell is John K. Ferguson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Ferguson, of 6658 Cumberland Ct. Riverside. Traveling on the third largest carrier in the world commanded by Capt. John T. Hayward, the men are scheduled to dock at Valpariso, Chille, and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil before arrival in the United States at Mayport,Fla. Aug. 9. The carrier transports 450 naval reserve officers and men on annual training duty, is additon to her regular crew of 3,200. Panama was the first port of call after departure from San Francisco June 20. Before reaching Lima, while crossing the equator. Ferguson and Farrell participated in the "Neptunus frex,"ceremony "accident order fo the deep where in lovely pollwogs become sea going shellbacks. |
