Superior Judge Charles L. Alllison dismissed charges of manslaughter against Burton East of Colton yesterday after two days of trial of the case.
East had charged with the death of Thomas Dunn of Rialto who was struck from the bicycle by a car driven by East in Rialto March 10.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Jerome B. Kavanaugh moved for the dismissal of the case after evidence was given that East was under the influence of sleeping tablets at the time of accident occurred instead of liquor as first believed.
East had been given the tablets to ease the pain from injuries suffered when he was gored by a co9w. He was represented by Attorneys Karl F. King and R. E. Hodge
