Our Francis was listed as a farmer in the 1850 census in Jackson Co. AL . Eliza Keeton age 16f living in Francis's household in 1850 Census of Jackson Co. AL The second son, William, was blind and is shown as the only child still living with Francis and Elizabeth in the 1870 census. The tombstone inscriptions spell his name as Whitely. Peter Gilla lived next door age 52 b VA.

THIS CEMETERY IS LOCATED IN PAINT ROCK RIGHT OFF OF HWY. 72. COMING FROM SCOTTSBORO, TURN LEFT ON THE FIRST ROAD PAST THE PAINT ROCK POST OFFICE, HILL ST., GO AROUND THE CURVE TO THE RIGHT AND THE CEMETERY IS ON THE LEFT UP ON A HILL.


THIS CEMETERY IS VERY OLD, HAS ALOT OF IRON FENCES IN IT, AND IN DESPERATE NEED OF ATTENTION. THERE ARE MANY, MANY UNMARKED GRAVES AND GRAVES MARKED WITH ROCKS. ALOT OF THE HEADSTONES ARE BROKEN AND THE CEMETERY IS GROWN UP.
