Notes

"Jonas was born in January 1733, according to the now-lost baptism records of Philadelphia's Gloria Dei Church. Jonas would have been baptized by the minister of Gloria Dei on one of his trips to St. Gabriel's Church in Amity Township, Berks County, PA. "Jonas Likins" is listed as a single man in the 1752 List of Taxables for Robeson Township, Berk's County. He and his family moved to Frederick County, VA by at least 1772 when "Jonas and Rebekah Likings" were listed as witnesses of a Quaker wedding. While Jonas and Rebeckah did not appear to be Quakers, they seemed to attend a large number of Quaker weddings. Their daughter Phebe joined the Quakers and Henry was a member for a short time."
