Andrew W. Biesecker, subject (pg1069) Com. Bio's, was born in Madison County, Lackawanna Co., then Luzerne, on Aug. 12, 1842, a son of Jacob and Matilida (Swartz).
The paternal great-grandfather, a native of Germany, on coming
to America, settled in Easton, PA.
The grandparents, John and "Sillpean: Biesecker were both born
in eastern PA, the father of German descent, the mother, French.
John was a Rev. War soldier, ( note from me, he does not have a
pension file). John died in Buffalo County, Wisc. Maternal
grandfather was Balser Swartz.

"Col. Zachary Lewis' father (also Zachary) was the King's Attorney for Caroline County, later a Burgess from Spottsylvania County. The son, Col. Zachary Lewis (according to the Lewis Genealogy, p403) "accompanied Gen. Washington and remained with him some time at old Fort Cumberland in 1755. He was promoted to a colonelcy."
