Matthias BARLOW

ABT 1725 - by 1747

ID Number: I95263

  • RESIDENCE: of Spotsylvania and Culpeper Co. VA
  • BIRTH: ABT 1725, Virginia
  • DEATH: by 1747, Virginia
  • RESOURCES: See; [S3503]
Father: Christopher BARLOW "the Immigrant"

Notes

"i. MATTHIAS2 BARLOW born about 1725 in Virginia; Matthias Bellar/Barlow was probably the oldest son and was granted 400 acres of land on June 24, 1726, jointly with Mathias Smith.

On October 19, 1747, Mathias Smith deeded to Jacob Barlow 200 acres, which was half of the 1726 grant. This deed indicates that both Christopher, the father, and Matthias were dead by 1747, that Matthias had no wife nor children, and that, Jacob, the elder surviving son, was heir to the land. This information given by Edson and Pauline Barlow August 09, 1997. Edson & Pauline Barlow are the publishers of the Barlow of Barlow genealogy newsletter."
