"The proof of this Marriage is found in a deed of record in Spottsylvanis co, VA, dated 1751, m from Bowker Smith of Cumberland Co, VA. and Judith His wife, conveying 150 acres , " a part of a tract of land patented by Ralph Bowker, Clk, of St Stephen,s Parish, King and Queen Co. and by bequeathed to his daughter, Ann Smith the said Patent having been reneded in May, 1729, by Bird Bowker, and by him He queathed to Bowker Smith."
Pittsylvania County, Virginia History: "John Smith, known as
Col. John Stalin, married Anne---and had issue: John, born
September 23, 1725, and died at "The Pocket"; Bowker, who
married Judith Cox of Cumberland County, May 22, 1749; and Guy,
who married Anne Hopkins of Goochland, on November 20, 1751.
