The following is taken from EDWARD O. GUERRANT by McAllister and Guerrant. pp. 229 &230: Peter GUERRANT, son of Peter GUERRANT, Jr. and Mary (PERREAU) PERROW. Quote" Peter Guerrant married Tabitha Moss, a famous beauty of her section; moved from Buckingham to Franklin County, Va., where he amassed a fortune and was an extensive landholder.
"Peter Guerrant - who married Tabitha Moss left Buckingham County - Virginia--moved to Franklin County 1814. The Guerrant home was about 25 miles southwest of Roanoke. the Guerrants started farming in Franklin County 1814 -- The City of Roanoke was chartered in 1882"
