Notes

He received several parcels of land beginning in 1765. John Packer is the only Packer in the 1790 South Carolina Census, and his household shows two males over 16, three under 16, and four females. An old map of So. Carolina that was reprinted in the Bicentenial Edition shows a McCants family living across Lynche's Creek from the Packer family. Sons are probably Thomas, Robert, and Samuel.
