"Milburn, originally in Hickman County, was located in the Section 20 and 29 Township 4 north Range 2 west. It was named for William Milburn on whose land the town was laid out, in the early 1830's. Mr. Milburn, was a native of Maryland, having been born there in 1772. He came to Ky in an early day and was married about 1801 to Sarah Taylor, who was the daughter of CHARLES and SARAH CONWAY TAYLOR. Her father was an officer in the American Revolution.


Mrs. Sarah Taylor Milburn was born in 1776 and died in 1829. William Milburn later married Mrs. Elizabeth Edrington of Columbus. She was the widow of Joseph Edrington. William Milburn Died in 1858 at the home of his son Richard Taylor Milburn.


William and Sarah T. Milburn's other know children were: Eliza Ann, who became the wife of Benjamin F. Edrington of Columbus; Charles who married Mary Thorp; Martha, who first married Samuel Abbott and later to Henry B. Webb." [S518] [S518]
