[S34] Gil Gaumer Personal Research
, Gil Gaumer, e-mail address. Gil probably has the largest database of Gaumer information. He has over 15,000 Gaumers. Most of the information on the Gaumers has been from his research in one way or another as other Gaumer researchers have contributed data that in part was influenced by Gil's efforts. He has been a great help to many researchers looking for their Gaumer links. Any questions regarding the Gaumers should by all means be directed to Gil. He is the "authority" on the Gaumers.

[S44] Dennis S. Shirer Personal and Family Research, Dennis S. Shirer, e-mail address. I have been interested in genealogy all my life always listening intently to my mother's and grandparent's tales of the old days. I have been seriously searching for maybe the last ten. Too many other interests were getting in the way. Since the internet has become such a powerful tool for researching I have begun my search in earnest and now have a vary large database of Shirer ancestors and descendants.
My strength lies in finding data and coordinating efforts by many people. This web site is a culmination of that cooperation. and will continue to mine the efforts of those willing to share their data for the benefit of others.

"I was born and raised in the village of Newland, Jasper Co., Indiana. The county seat and our mailing address was for Rensselaer, Indiana. I attended St. Joseph's College of Indiana (in Rensselaer) for my BA in Social Studies Education, and got my MA in Modern European History from Purdue University. I enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1973 and retired after 20 years of service as a non-commissioned officer (field artillery and military intelligence) and as a commisioned officer (military intelligence). Since retirement I've been employed by the Army as declassifying both Gulf War and pre-1975 historical army records. I am currently a historian with the U.S. Army Center of Military History at Ft. McNair, Washington, DC. I live in Ft. Washington, Maryland. I am married and have 2 daughters, Lindsey Victoria (b. He is related through the Sandels and Slaters so we consider him a distant cousin although he has really endeared himself as more than that.
Doug has been a member of the Muskingum Chapter of the Ohio Genealogy Society and served as past president. He has compiled many publications including the Adamsville Register Obituaries that is quoted in these pages extensively thanks to his effort. Hopefully we can continue to benefit from his generosity and helpfullness for years.
