Darlyne Humphrey

PEORIA - Darlyne C. Humphrey, 88, of Peoria died at 5:47 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.



Born Aug. 17, 1915, in Peoria to Charles and Meta Hemphill Faichney, she married Dale Humphrey on Nov. 3, 1935, in Chicago. He died in 1991 in Peoria.



She also was preceded in death by one son, Leslie.



Surviving are one daughter, Carole (and Greg) Garner of Peoria; two sons, Michael (and Helen) of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Larry of Jacksonville; one sister, Doris Casey of Winchester, Va.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.



She worked at Parc for many years before retiring.



She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 2078 in East Peoria.



She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria, where she taught the Sunshine Class for many years.



Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cumerford-Endsley-Diggle Funeral Home, 428 W. McClure Ave. The Rev. Sigurd Bjorklund will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.



Memorials may be made to Alvin Eades Handicapped Living Center, 1000 A. Michigan St., Jacksonville, IL 62650-3396.
