| Note* | Cyrus moved to Tuscarawas Co., OH with his parents in 1838. In 1841 he became a member of the Baptist church and soon manifested a pious zeal for religion. He married Henrietta Louisa Baughman in 1844 and in June 1849, sold his interest in his father's estate and moved to Fulton Co., IL. He resided there until 1855 when he removed to Knox Co, IL near Hermon. In 1858 he was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel and since that time was actively engaged as both farmer and preacher of the gospel, sometimes travelling long distances to supply churches in need and giving his time and services without reward.1 | |
