RILEY GAUMER DEAD

Riley Gaumer a well known carpenter and contractor died at his home about a mile west of town about one o'clock this morning. He had been in poor health for several weeks suffering from a complication of diseases. Riley Gaumer was the youngest son of Jacob and
Elizabeth Gaumer and was born in Adams Township in May 1832. He was married to Elizabeth Zimmer and five sons were born to the union; three of whom are dead. The surviving sons are W. O. Gaumer of South Tacoma, Washington and H. C. Gaumer of the home. His wife preceded him to the grave only a few weeks, having died on the 5th day of January. Besides the two sons the deceased is survived by two sisters and two brothers. They are Mrs. Rachel Bell of Monroe Township, Lyman Gaumer of this village; Mrs. Malinda Wertz of Coshocton County and Samuel Gaumer of Illinois. Mr. Gaumer was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church and his daily walk showed him to be sincere in his profession of the Christian religion. He was a good citizen and an obliging neighbor. Funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon at the New Hope Lutheran Church, the funeral cortege leaving the family residence at 1 0'clock. Rev J. J. S. Rumbarger will conduct the services.

Appeared in the Adamsville Register, February 1908
