Anna E. Sproat

Mrs. Anna Ethel Sproat, 89, of Pawnee died at 1 a.m. Sunday at Sunrise Manor Health Care Center in Virden.



She was born Sept. 8, 1899, in Old Berlin, the daughter of Harvey L. and Elizabeth Flowers Douglas. She married George A. Sproat in 1920. He died in 1978. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Norma E. Sandidge, in 1956. Mrs. Sproat, a homemaker, was a member of Pawnee United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of America, and a member of the Christian County Farm Bureau.



Surviving are one son, Laverne Sproat of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Lovella Erickson of Springfield; one stepsister, Genevieve Nation of Pawnee; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.



Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roarick-Davis Memorial Home, Pawnee, with the Rev. Robert Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Horse Creek Cemetery.
