J. Carl King Passed
Away Friday, Sept. 2

J. Carl King, aged 26, a former resident of Madison Township, west of Adamsville, died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville Friday evening, at 7:30, following an illness from diabetes. He had been a resident of Zanesville for the past several years.

The deceased had not been in good health for the past few weeks, but his condition was not considered particularly serious, although he was removed to the hospital for observation and treatment. After admission to the hospital where the examination was conducted, it was expected his stay would be brief, as his condition was regarded favorable. After being made comfortable, the patient was left alone for a short time, when upon the return of the nurse to his bedside, he was found dead.

Mr. King was an employe of the American Rolling Mill in Zanesville, and is survived by his widow and two children, Ramona and Peggy Ann; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. King and an adopted sister, Miss Bertha King of Zanesville; also many other relatives and a host of friends. He was a member of the Adamsville M. E. Church.

Mr. King was a graduate of the Adamsville high school and also attended Muskingum College and Ohio University. He was popular, and loved and respected by his classmates and aquaintances elsewhere. He was formerly a member of the Adamsville baseball team, and since his residence in Zanesville had officiated as umpire at many of the local games last year and this, because of his ability and fairness in his decisions. In honor of a departed member, the Adamsville ball team attended the funeral in a body and also furnished a beautiful floral tribute as a token of respect and esteem in which he was held by his fellow players.

Funeral services were held at the home of the deceased's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. King in Zanesville, Sunday afternoon at 2:30, and was attended by a number of Adamsville friends, who are deeply grieved over the passing of this popular and much admired young man. Burial was made in Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville.
