Mrs. Matilda Davis Called
By Death November 9th

Mrs. Matilda Davis, aged 81, died early Wednesday morning, Nov. 9, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Orville Taylor, about two miles southeast of Adamsville, as a result of an extended illness from infirmities.


The deceased was the widow of the late A. A. Davis and had been a resident of this vicinity her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Bowden. Mrs Davis was a most estimable woman, loved and respected by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed in this community. She was a member of the Bethel M. E. Church.


Surviving the deceased are, the daughter, Mrs. Orville Taylor and a son, Loyd Davis of Zanesville.


Funeral Services were held at New Hope Lutheran Church Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. Couts of Delroy and Rev. Harold T. Wintermute, former and present pastor of the Adamsville M. E. charge. Burial was made in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of undertaker, H. E. Shirer of Adamsville.
