MRS. CATHERINE KNICELY DEAD

Mrs. Sarah Catherine Knicely, widow of David Knicely, died at her home in Adams township, Friday, April 27, 1923, of diseases incident to old age.

The deceased was the daughter of John and Barbara Wagoner and was born in Adams township, near Adamsville, Jan. 5, 1837. She was united in marriage to David Knicely Jan. 22, 1863, and to this union eight children were born. Three of the children preceded her to the grave and her husband died nine years ago. The children surviving her are J. N. Knicely, of Norwich Route 1; I. H. Knicely, of near Conesville; Jennie and Ocha Knicely, of the home, and H. H. Knicely, of Gilbert Route 1. One brother Samuel Wagoner, of Newark, survives her. Seven grandchildren and one great-grandchildr also survive her.

In early life Mrs. Knicely united with the New Hope Lutheran church and continued a faithful member until the end came. Her home life as well as her associations with those around her, showed her to possess a true christian spirit and gave her the confidence and good will of those she came in contact. Her usefulness continued until a short time before she passed away at the ripe old age of 86 years, 3 months and 22 days.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the New Hope Lutheran church by Rev. J. S. Miller and the remains were interred in the New Hope cemetery. Undertaker H. E. Shirer has charge of the burial.
