The biography of her grandson, John Logan Cummins, (3rd gen.), in Portrait and Biographical Review, of Johnson, Massac, Pope and Hardin Counties, published by Biographical Publishing Company, Chicago, 1893, states that she was a 'physician amd travelled many, many miles on horseback to care for her patients.'"
