News/Obit* after 26 April 1907  Obituary,

George Harrison Vinsel died at his home in Adams township last Thursday about 5’Oclock p.m. while sitting in a chair waiting for his supper. He had been in very poor health for some time suffering from heart trouble, dropsy and other diseases incident to old age, but the last few days of his life had apparently got slightly better. He was a native of Virginia and was born in Loudoun County, that state, August 24, 1824. When 26 years of age he came to this county and located in Adams Township on the same farm where the remainder of his long and useful life was spent. On August 22, 1850, the same year he came to this county, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Rebecca Wenner who is still living and mourns his departure of the one who had been her companion for more than half a century. Eleven children were born to this union, ten of whom are still living. One son, William Kirk, died when only nine years old. The ten children living are S.F. and J.W. Vinsel and Mrs. C. Wohleater, of Adam township; Mrs. S.T. Hanks of Coshocton; Mrs. Henry Buker, of Monroe township; A.R. Vinsel of Wills Creek; Mrs. Anna V. Jordan of Adamsville; C.O. and A.A. Vinsel of Zanesville and G.T. Vinsel of near Coshocton. Mr. Vinsel was one of the best-known Farmers in the northeastern part of Muskingum County. He was the owner of a fine farm and took delight in keep it in good order. He was industrious and frugal and provided his family with a good home and the comforts of the life. He was also a kind husband and an affectionate father and encouraged his family in doing what the considered just and right. As a neighbor he was kind and generous and accommodating. Ever ready to help those in need and always willing to accommodate those who asked him a favor. He loved punctuality and truthfulness, not tardiness and deception. He had an exalted opinion of those who promptly fulfilled their promises, and was very prompt to make good his own Declaration. He was not unmindful of his spiritual welfare and nearly fifty years ago untied with New Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was regular in his attendance at church and exerted his influence in bringing laborers into this Master’s vineyard. He found sweet communion in the beautiful creations of God and those communions lent to his happiness and his desire to do good. Funeral services were held Friday forenoon at the New Hope Lutheran Church. Rev. J.J.S. Rumbarger delivering the funeral discourse. A large number were in attendance to sow their respect for the departed one. His six sons were pall bearers and at the conclusion of the service in the church they bore his body to the grave were it was laid to rest to await the final resurrection the fulfillment of God's promise.
