MRS. W. S. Shirer Passes Away


    Mrs. Winfield Shirer died last thursday evening at her home in Newark. Mrs. Shirer was for many years a resident of this village, and will be remembered by many of our readers.


    She is survived by her children: Dr. J. G. Shirer and Flay Shirer of Newark; Roy Shirer of Toledo*, and Miss Macre Shirer of the home.

    Funeral was held at Newark, last Saturday afternoon.

MRS. DINDA (CINDA) SHIRER


    Mrs Dinda (Cidna) Shirer, aged 76 years, wife of Winfield Shirer, died Thursday evening at her home 595 Granville street, after five weeks' illness.


    Mrs. Cinda (Cidna) Stires (Stiers) Shirer, was the daughter of Dr. Henry and Susan Decker, and was born Ocotber 12, 1847, in Adamsville.


    She was married August 20, 1871, in Adamsville, to Winfield S. Shirer and to this union five children were born, four sons and one daughter.


    Mr. and Mrs. Shirer celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, August 20, 1921, and at the time of her death they had lived together 53 years.


    She was a member of the M.E. Church and having united with the Adamsville Methodist church 65 years ago.


    Surviving are her husband, and three sons; Dr. James G. Shirer of this city, Macre and Flay E. Shirer, also of this city, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shirer and son of Cleveland. A son, Frank M. Shirer died in 1918 in Salt Lake City.


    Mrs. Shirer was one of 12 children, three whom survive; two brothers, Lafayette Decker of Toledo, who is 81 years of age, Rev. A. M. Decker of Buffalo, N.Y., and one sister, Mrs S. S. Dickonsin of Salt Lake City.


    Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home in Granville street. Rev. C. E. Chandler will officiate and burial will be made in Cedar Hill cemetary.

Mrs. Cidna Shirer, aged 77, wife of Winfield S. Shirer, died at her home in Newark last thursday night of heart disease. She was reared in Adamsville and was a cousin to Dr. R. B. Bainter, Mrs. E. F. O'Neal, Mrs.L. F. Long and Harmon Bainter all of this city. The funeral was held in Newark Saturday afternoon.
