Note*   Many researchers believe Simon's parent to be Alexander Cummins and Sarah Muttoone. That is unproven and is thought to be from "CUMMINS ANCIENT, CUMMINS NEW", an unreliable source of Cummins/Cummings data. Most people may assume Alexander is Simon's father because he is shown living with Alexander in the "List of Tithables" in Fauquier Co., VA., in the Year 1759. That is Simon's grown son Alexander though and not his father.

The LDS shows a birth records for John Cummins with parents Simon Cummins and Elizabeth Coram. It also lists the marriage in 1725 in Stafford, Stafford Parish, VA.
