MANSFIELD -- Mary Jane Jones, 91, of Lexington, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at home. Born May 14, 1915, in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Grace Diehl Zachman. Mrs. Jones was retired from Mansfield General Hospital, where she worked as a payroll clerk.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of United Methodist Women, Vivian Calvert Circle, Mary Hout Circle and was church treasurer for 14 years. She was also a member of Forem's Group of Mansfield General Hospital.

Mrs. Jones enjoyed reading, gardening and needlework.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ernest W. Jones; daughter, Barbara Jones of Mansfield; two sisters-in-law, Betty Garver of Mansfield, and Lydia Zachman of Mason, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert D. Zachman, and sister, Ruth E. Boley.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday, June 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1592 Grace St., with the Rev. Gary Streiff officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in care of Trinity United Methodist Church.
