DURANT – Mary M. “Hendershot,” Baskin, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at Wilson N. Jones Memorial Hospital in Sherman, Texas. Services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Coffey-Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma. The burial will take place at the Old Church Cemetery and Rev. Anthony Williams will officiate.

Mrs. Baskin was born on Thursday, June 9, 1921 at Calhoun County, West Virginia, to the parents of Clarence and Leota Ruth (Smith) Carse. She was Real Estate Broker and a manager of Rental Properties. She was married to the late Thomas Joe Baskin on June 9, 1966 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She is survived by: son, Tom Hendershot and wife Becky of DeQueen, Arkansas; grandson, Chaney Hendershot and wife Priscilla of Ft. Scott, Kansas; great grandson, Beau Tanner Hendershot of Ft. Scott, Kansas; and a brother, Tom Carse of Fort Worth, Texas.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Clarence and Leota Ruth (Smith) Carse; husband, Thomas Joe Baskin on August 25, 1972; infant daughter, Karen Sue Hendershot (ed. should be Kayren) on December 30, 1947.
