Services for Roy W.B. Cowan, retired chairman of the board of River-side Press Co., will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Holy Cross in Dallas. Burial will be at Restland Memorial Park.

Mr. Cowan died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas after a brief illness. He was 91.

A native of New York City, Mr. Cowan came to Dallas in 1916 to train at Love Field as a pilot for the Army Air Corps.

He returned to Dallas after serving during World War I as a fighter pilot. He also was a deputy base commander.

He was a board member of the Aero-space Heritage Foundation.

Mr. Cowan was a founder of Southwest Printing Co., which later became Riverside Press. He later became chairman of the board.

He was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross, the Salesman Club, the Advertising League and the Order of Daedalians. He was also a member of the Dallas Bone-head Club and the National Association of Photo Litho-graphers.

Mr. Cowan also held membership in the Military Order of World Wars and was a Noble of the Mystic Shrine of Hella Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Cowan of Dallas; a daughter, Martha Stanard of Dallas; three grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Church of the Holy Cross.
