The groom-to-be is the son of Tim and Debbie Shirar of Marion, Indiana, and Dane and Judy Peterson of Portland, Indiana. He is the nephew of Brenda Baker of Shelbyville. He is a 2003 graduate of Southern Wells High School. He is employed by BCF Woodworking in Portland, Indiana. The couple will reside in Pennville, Indiana.
