| News/Obit* | 7 August 1993 | FORT WORTH - Bennett Barron Hamner, a structural engineer and a teacher of graduate and undergraduate aeronautical engineering at Texas A&M University, died Thursday of natural causes at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 78. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Chapel of Intercession at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, where he was a member. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Mr. Hamner was born in Waco. He had lived in Fort Worth since 1966 after leaving there in the 1940s to teach at A&M. Mr. Hamner was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, American Men of Science, Who's Who in Engineering and Tau Beta Pi honorary engineering society. The family requests that memorials be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, Box 1890, Amarillo 79105; or Lakeview United Methodist Church, 701 Ave. C, Waco 76705. Survivors: Wife, Juanita Roebuck Hamner of Fort Worth; son, John B. Hamner of Denver; two daughters, Anita Hamner Jenkins of Anniston, Ala., and Margaret Hamner McLoud of Temple; two brothers, John G. Hamner of Punta Gorda, Fla., and A.H.
