| News/Obit* | 20 October 1951 | Gustavus A. Zeigler Gustavus A. Zeigler, aged 81 years, of R.D. 2, died in the New Castle hospital this morning at 1:15 o'clock, after a lingering illness. Mr. Zeigler was born in Harmony, Butler county, Pa. on August 28, 1870, son of Abraham and Caroline Fiedler Zeigler. He lived practically all of his life in this community. Mr. Zeigler was lately occupied as a farmer. Prior to 1918 he worked in the Shanango Tin Mill company as a foreman in the millwright separtment for 25 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. On January 16, 1895, he married the former Catherine Smith. His wife, mrs. Catherine Zeigler survives and children: Miss Olive M. Zeigler, at home; Mrs. Caroline Rohrer, R.D. 2; and Louis N. Zeigler, at home. He leaves three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m., in the R. I. Boyd funeral home, 208 North Jefferson street, Rev. O. J. Warnath of St. Paul's Litheran church to be in charge. Burial will be in the Castle View Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, and Monday, 7 to 9 p.m. Published in the New Castle News, October 20, 1951, Page 13 |
