Carol A. Shaw, 68, of Dover died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at her home.

Born Feb. 11, 1939, in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Mary Mason Lawver. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Lawver.

Carol was a member of Roxford United Methodist Church at Dennison and had attended the First Church of the Brethren in New Philadelphia where she was a Sunday school teacher and served in many different capacities within the church.

Carol is survived by her husband, Benjamin Shaw, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage on Dec. 21, 2007.

She is also survived by four daughters, Shelley (Greg) Poole of Mineral City, Mary Ann (Steve) Mastnick of Massillon, Cindy (John) Rainsberger of Sugarcreek and Lisa (Todd) Phillips of Dover; brother, Richard (Peggy) Lawver of Dover; six grandchildren, Jeremiah, Craig Allen, Krystal (husband, Mike), Brandon, Cody and Matthew; and a great-grandson, Xavier.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Roxford United Methodist Church at Dennison with Rev. Bob Mathias officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Carol may do so by visiting the online obituaries link on the funeral home's Web site.
