On Saturday, April 26, 2010, Howard passed away comfortably in his sleep at the age of 90.

Howard is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Lois and their children Diane, Judy and Michael; grandchildren, Amy, Robin, Rod and Andrew and great-grandchildren Karly and Ben.

Howard grew up in Tugaske, Saskatchewan and all his life went back to his spiritual home to help up with the family farming. Howard graduated from the University of Alberta in Chemical Engineering in 1950 and was a life member of the Engineering Society. Howard was a devoted family man, who will be deeply missed by his family.

Howard's work ethic and moral compass, always doing the right thing, were his greatest strength and his most admired trait.

A private family service was held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Sherwood Park. The family requests no flowers but a donation in Howard's name to Doctors without Borders.
