Eliza Jane Vinsel, widow of the late Isaiah Vinsel, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. A. Swope, in Dresden, Saturday, January 20, 1917, of a complication of diseases. Her affliction became serious in June 1915, and about two months later she was taken to the home of her daughter in Dresden where after a long illness, her death occurred.

Mrs. Vinsel was the daughter of Valentine and Esther Shirer and was born in Adams township, January 30, 1831. She was aged 82 years, 11 months and 20 days when the call was answered that finished her mission on earth. In 1855 she was united in marriage to Isaiah Vensil and to this union eleven children were born. Her husband and four children preceded her to the grave.

In early life Mrs. Vinsel became a member of the Bethesda M. E. church, of the Adamsville circuit, and retained her membership in that church until the close of her long life. She was a woman of many good qualities and with loving devotion labored for the welfare of her large family.

The children surviving her are Mrs. W. A. Swope and Miss Addie Vinsel, of Dresden; Mrs. E. E. Wages and Mrs. Roy Jewel, of Akron; Marion Vinsel, of Zanesville; Sherman Vinsel of Madison township, and Homer Vinsel of Adams township. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs.S. W. Sutton, of Carmel, Ind., and Miss. Cidna Shirer, of Green, Iowa; and one brother Greenwald Shirer, also of Green Iowa. Twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren also survive her.

Funeral Services were conducted on Monday of last week at the Bethesda M. E. church by Rev. A. W. Manning and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place.
