News/Obit* after 13 March 2010  Ola Jean McAmis Sloan, 90, of Belle Fourche died Saturday March 13, 2010 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center.
She was born August 8, 1919 in Ekalaka, Montana, the only child of Eugene and Stella Scott.
She moved with her family to Belle Fourche at a young age and attended Belle Fourche schools. She graduated from Belle Fourche high school in 1937.

Ola married Buford McAmis in January 1941. She worked for and supported her husband at Mac's Electric until the business was sold in 1958. Ola worked at Camp Judson as a cook for several years, then at the Farmers and Ranchers Co-op. Ola traveled to the Holy Lands, and traveled with her family to Canada, Hawaii and numerous locations around the United States.

Ola and Buford always had an open door and provided room and board for several family members attending school in Belle Fourche.
Ola served as Treasurer at the First Baptist Church for years; she taught Sunday School, Bible School and was a leader in the Baptist Women's Missionary Society. She was always available to help out in the kitchen.

Ola married Harold Sloan in 1994. They spent time enjoying each other's company and still traveling until they both had to move into the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center in 2007.

Ola is survived by her husband, Harold Sloan, of Belle Fourche; son, Lloyd (Carol) McAmis of Arvada, CO; daughter-in-law, Ingrid-Ann McAmis of Andover, MN; grandsons, Donnie (Debby) McAmis and Ronnie (Jennie) McAmis all of Ft. Collins, CO, Dan (Tammy) McAmis of Frederick, CO and Brian (Brandy) McAmis of Fridley, MN; granddaughtes, Nicole (Matt) Mason of Andover, MN and Dalari Bell (Sean) of Littleton, CO and 9 great-grandchildren, Karisa McAmis and Taylor McAmis, Joseph, Benjamin and Michael Mason, Kelley and Emma McAmis and Ethan and Cullen Bell.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Buford McAmis and a son, Keith McAmis.

A Ceremonial Tribute will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20 at the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche with Pastor Anthony Bradseth officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Pine Slope Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to Camp Judson, American Diabetes Association or the Hospice of the Northern Hills.
