HOWE - Jay D. Little, Sr., 76, of Howe, Idaho, went to heaven on July 30, 2004 following a brave battle with cancer and diabetes. He was surrounded by his loving family, and his passing leaves a void in the many lives he touched.

Jay was born on February 15, 1928 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to James D. and Alice Mays Little. He was the youngest of nine siblings.

Jay served his country in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1947. After his service he returned home and worked around the Howe Valley as a farmhand. In 1951 he married Claris Johnson and they raised three children, Linda, Randy and Jay D. Jr. on the old Fallert Ranch north of Howe. They were later divorced. He was an active member of the Little Lost River Bible Church, where he participated and enjoyed going to Bible Camp. He loved to go singing at Christmas time with the carolers. He was a faithful member of the Howe Lions Club and served in many capacities. He worked as a rancher and at the INEL and later at the Howe Landfill.

Jay was an avid fly fisherman, hunter, trapper and just loved the great outdoors. He especially had a great love for the Little Lost River Valley and the people who live in it.
