News/Obit*	21 December 2007	A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007, at the Simpson United Methodist Church in Alta Vista, Kansas for Patricia Maureen "Patti" McDiffett, 57, Alta Vista, Kansas. Friends may call from 1 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Council Grove Chapel. Family will receive friends from 6 - 8:00 p.m. Mrs. McDiffett passed away Friday, December 14, 2007, at the Mercy Regional Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the Simpson United Methodist Church in Alta Vista, Kansas. Published 21 Dec 2007. Patricia McDiffett was born June 28, 1950, in Oak Park, Illinois the daughter of John F. and Lorna J. (Patterson) Cronin. Patricia was a homemaker enjoying her children and grandchildren. She worked for United Telephone Company in Junction City from 1968 - 1970. Patricia, along with her husband Scott, purchased "The Store" in Alta Vista December 1, 1997. She also worked for the Prairie Heights Day Care from August 14, 2006 until she was diagnosed with Cancer September of 2006. At that time, she resigned so she could take cancer treatments. Patricia attended Lincoln Elementary and St. Xavier's Grade Schools in Junction City. She also attended Dwight Grade School and High School. She graduated from Council Grove High School in 1968. She attended the Simpson United Methodist Church in Alta Vista, Kansas for many years. She enjoyed baking, music and has always loved the Lord! She had a wonderful childhood being taught about the Lord and so enjoyed the closeness of the big Patterson Family with all the music, singing and dancing. She married L.S. (Scotty) McDiffett, Jr. June 28, 1969 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Council Grove. He survives. Other survivors include her parents, John F. (Joe) and Lorna J. (Jean) Patterson Cronin of Dwight, Kansas; her children, Lori Ann and her husband Matt Cameron, Loveland, Colorado; Renae Maureen of Manhattan, Kansas and Matthew Scott and his wife Linda of Alta Vista, Kansas. She is also survived by one sister, Peggy Siemers and her husband David of Waverly, Kansas; one brother, Dan Cronin and his wife Cindy of Dwight, Kansas. She is survived by her grandchildren, Cole and Kyle Cameron, Ethan, Khilyn and Teigen McDiffett. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and one nephew.
