News/Obit*	15 December 2003	QUINCY -- Glen E. Firestone , age 73, of Quincy, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003 at his home. Glen was born on Sept. 2, 1930 in Algansee Township to Ford and Pearl (Gall) Firestone . Glen worked for the Coldwater Regional Center as a resident aide, retiring in the late 1970s. He then went to work for the Jackson State Prison in maintenance and also owned and operated Glen 's Handyman Service for 20 years. Mr. Firestone was a lifelong resident of the Branch County area. He graduated from Montgomery High School in 1949 and served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of the Coldwater Eagles and a very active member of Lockwood Community Church. He was the church handyman and played on the Lockwood Community Church softball team, as well as umpired for many years. Glen also bowled for many years on several different leagues. Most of all he enjoyed his family and friends. He loved to help people and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Glen married Wanda Boyd on Dec. 19, 1953. She preceded him in death on June 13, 200. He then married Karen (Bazarek) Hanna on Sept. 22, 2001 in Coldwater. He was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Weeks and Mary Showalter; brother, Lyle Firestone and brother-in-law Fred Ernsberger. Glen is survived by his wife Karen; daughters, Elizabeth Firestone of Sturgis, Brenda and Devon Vinson of Lebanon, Ind., Katrina and Jack McCann of Franklin, N.C., and Tonya Rowe of Sturgis; step-children, Anna and Bryan Walters of Coldwater, Lisa Hanna of Greenville, Ill., James (Donna) Hanna of Coldwater and Michelle and Matt Avery of Coldwater; sister, Joyce Ernsberger of Quincy; brother-in-law, Bill Weaks of Quincy; sister-in-law, Eva Firestone of Coldwater; grandchildren, Gina, Heidi, Jermiah, Katrina, Sabrina and Jenelle; nine step-grandchildren and two great-grandsons, Devon and Mykah. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home. Services will be on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Interment will follow in Lester Cemetery in Algansee Township.
