Note*   Charles enlisted in the Union Army, Company A, 46th Indiana Volunteers in 1861.

Charles and Lucinda moved to Kansas in 1867 and engaged in farming in Saline County until 1888 when they moved to Texas. They lived many places spending the last four near Houston.

Charles gave land for St. Paul's Lutheran Church and cemetery on his land in Saline, Kansas. A description of the land is as follows:

'the Southwest Quarter of Section 12 of Wamnut Township of Saline County, Kansas'

The second church was built about 1911 nd then was destroyed in a wind storm and torn down. Only the cemetery remains.
