Note*   Sarah was born in MD to parents Jonathan Bayer/Boyer and Elizabeth Cunningham. She came to Montgomery Co., KS in 1869 with her husband from Carroll Co., IN. After the death of Daniel in 1909, Sarah was declared insane and was institutionalize at the Topeka State Hospital. It was there that she died in 1911. An excerpt from her obituary reads:

"Years ago her mind grew tired and went to rest, to sleep - but her body still lived on until the 11th day of this 11th month in this 1th year her body also grew too tired to live any longer and it too lay down to rest - to rest from every frailty, from every weakness - to rest for all time."

Sarah and Daniel were Presbyterian.
