Word has been received here of the death of Jesse Gaumer at his home in Jasper county, Missouri. Mr. Gaumer was a brother of the late Johnathan Gaumer and lived in this township and in Franklin township, Coshocton county, until about thirty years ago, when he moved west. His wife was a daughter of James Wagoner, of Adams township, who is still living. His age was about 74 years. During the Civil War he was a member of Company B, 80th Regiment O.V.I. and was wounded at the battle of Mission Ridge and also at the battle of Inks, Miss., losing an arm in the latter engagement. Only two of Mr. Gaumer's brothers are now living, Rev. Geo. Gaumer, of Pittsburgh, and Charles Gaumer, of Lawrence, Kansas.
