ABILENE - Gwynneth R. Curtis, 65, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Highland Church of Christ. Arrangements are by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.

Mr. Curtis was born to Jauvada Gertrude (Morrison) and William Richard Curtis on March 5, 1939, in Amarillo.He received a master of divinity from Abilene Christian University.He married Joyce Browning on Aug. 25, 1962, in Sunset Church of Christ in Dallas. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, "Opa" and friend.

Gwynneth devoted his life to ministering to others and spreading the good news of Christ throughout the world.For the past two years, he had served as a missions liaison with Eastern European Mission and Bible Foundation.

Since 1976, he had been a resident of Abilene. His hobbies included golf and music.He was a member of Highland Church of Christ, where he served as an elder from 1995 to 2003.Gwynneth had a passion for Christ and a great love for people, his family and especially his seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Curtis.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kellie Miller of San Antonio and Trellis Phillips of Madison, Wis.; two sons, Cory Curtis of Lubbock and Ryan Curtis of McKinney; his mother of Dallas; a sister, Margaret Majors of Garland; and lots of grandchildren who dearly loved their "Opa."

The family suggests memorials be to Eastern European Mission, Attn: Frank Farr, P.O. Box 90755, Houston, TX77290.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ABILENE - Gwynneth R. Curtis, 65, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Highland Church of Christ, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Highland Atrium. Gwynneth was born to Jauvada Gertrude (Morrison) and William Richard Curtis on March 5, 1939, in Amarillo.
