FLOWER MOUND — James W. Moore, 86, passed away Tuesday morning, Aug. 30, 2005, at a local hospital.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Thursday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.

Mr. Moore was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Dalhart to Clarence and Cora Moore. James retired from Johnson controls in Dallas, where he worked as an electrical engineer. He served our country during World War II by serving in the U.S. Army and fighting in the Pacific. James served in the East Indies, Papuan, Aitape and New Guinea campaign. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with three bronze stars, the American Defense Service Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Edith McCormick Moore, on Aug. 3, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Survivors: Son, Dr. Denis Atkinson and wife, Sandra; sisters, Belle Anderson, Myrtle Andrews and Jo Ray; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends; and his beloved Chihuahua, Cokie.
