James R. Webreck, 73, Berlin, died Aug. 26, 2002 at Somerset Hospital.

Born March 21, 1929 in Brothersvalley Township, he was the son of Robert D. and Lula (Leydig) Webreck. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barby (Coughenour) Webreck; children, Sandra, married to Martin Grenke, Fairhope, James R. Jr., married to the former Pamela Landis, Somerset, Margie, married to James P. Zorn, Tawnya, married to Richard Zorn, Tina, married to Albert Foy, all of Berlin; grandchildren, Christopher Grenke and wife Rene, Dawnyel Grenke, Heather Grenke and fiance Matthew Foor, Shawn Grenke, Erin and Andrew Webreck, Jenna and Samuel Zorn, Jeremy and Jacob Zorn, Joshua and Jeremiah Foy; brothers, William and wife Bernie, Richard and wife Rose Ann, both of Berlin; brothers-in-law, Donald and wife Carol Coughenour, Newark, Del., Carl and wife Betty Coughenour, Hollsopple, and faithful companion "Spike."

He Was a self-employed farmer and a retired postmaster, last working in the Fairhope and Hyndman post offices. He was a member, former deacon, treasurer and Sunday school teacher at Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin. A Navy veteran of World War II. Member and past commander of American Legion Harry Fisher Post 445, Berlin, Hyndman Lodge 589 F & AM, Scottish Rite, Cumberland; Berlin Fireman's Association; former 4-H leader and graduate of Berlin High School class of 1946. He enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, and watching his grandchildren in sporting events. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. James Hughes officiating.

Interment with military honors provided by the Berlin Legion and VFW in Berlin IOOF Cemetery. Family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Trinity United Church of Christ, PO Box 86, Berlin. Pa. 15530.
