News/Obit* 18 July 2006  Martha M. Frederick (nee Pugh) (Emmons), 89, passed away June 21, 2006, at Hospice Care Center.

Born in Minerva, Ohio, on March 31, 1917, to the late Emmet and Grace (Anglemyer) Emmons, Martha lived in the Akron area all her life. She graduated from North High School in 1935, and was a faithful member of Redeemer United Methodist Church and the Ne-Hta Chapter of the Eastern Star. She formerly worked at Summit County Board of Elections, Summit County Clerk of Courts, and the Summit County Jury Commissioner's office.

Along with her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her first husband, George L. Pugh; second husband, Carl C. Frederick; daughter, Marjorie Timmons; five brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her son, George Pugh; grandchildren, Rochelle (Mike) Farina, Dean and John Hosfield, Gary (Julie) Pugh and Shannon Johnson; great-grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, and Joseph Farina, Randy and Audra Pugh, Daniel and Sara Hosfield, and Tyler Johnson; stepchildren, Louise (Michael) Gibson and Thomas (Betsy) Frederick; step-grandchildren, Michelle Hunt, Andrew and Arron Frederick; brother, James (Maxine) Emmons; sister, Frances Morris; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Martha's family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service and Justin T. Rogers Center for the special care they received.

Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 21, at Crown Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Redeemer United Methodist Church, 265 E. Cuyahoga Falls Ave., Akron, Ohio 44310, with Rev. Donald Booth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care Center and Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333.
