Biography*   From the book "Rosie the Rubber Worker: women workers in Akron's rubber factories during World War II"
By Kathleen L. Endres, Page 57:

Judge Clande V. D. Emmons of Akron's Common Pleas Court proved to be the friend in the know for Thelma Moore, who worked as a cachier at the Loew's Theater in Akron. Emmons thought the teen deserved a better job. Thelma agreed but didn't know where to find one. "He [Judge Emmons] said they're going to be hiring down...at a new pant down at Goodyear, making planes," Thelma remembered. The judge even gave her the name of a contact. "[He] told me to go and see Whitey....And he called Whitey up and told him I was coming." The interview went well, but Thelma had to admit she was not quite eighteen, then the minimum age for working in a factory. She was told to return on her birthday, three days later, and she would be hired.
