Derheimer
age 70, of Carrollton, passed away Sept. 18, 2012 at Aultman Hospital. He was born Sept. 13, 1942 in Canton to Leonard Edward and Emma Elaine (Mastroianni) Derheimer. Gene was a brick mason by trade and belonged to Union #6 of Canton, Ohio. He was married May 25, 1990 to Kathy Sue (Wayne) Derheimer of the residence. Gene was a member of the Perrysville United Methodist Church. Gene lived in the area for 21 years and was a graduate of East Canton High School in 1962. Gene served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during Vietnam War from 1964 to 1965. A member of the Gold Prospectors of American, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing, all of the outdoors.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three sons, Gene T. (Rashelle) Derheimer of Malvern, Douglas W. (Erica) Ash of Minerva and Shawn (Shannen) Reitter of Canton; four daughters, Michelle A. (Darryl) Borntrager of Boonswick, Ohio, Dawn R. Derheimer and her companion, Shawn Snair of Malvern, Sue K. (Jim) Finn of Akron and Amy J. (Keith) Mays of Carrollton, Ohio; a brother, Ed (Apryl) Derheimer of Malvern; and a sister-in-law, Roxie Derheimer of Wheeling, W.Va.; ten grandchildren, Krystal Borntrager, Austin Munpire, Cheyenne Munpire, Tony Derheimer, Maggie Hutchison, Shawn Snair, Caspyr Finn, Zachary Burrier, Zoey Reitter, and Blaze Reitter. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Derheimer.

Calling hours will be Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Curt Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society .
