Note*   John Gaumer was born in 1794 in Southampton Twp., Somerset County, PA, the son of Johann ‘Jacob’ and Maria Catherine (Sowash) Gaumer.

On May 28, 1823, he married Mary Magdalena Shirer of Wellersburg, PA, the daughter of Adam and Saloma Schwartz.

They later moved to Ohio, settling in Linnton Twp., Coshocton County.

John died in Linnton on Aug. 28, 1862.
