Joseph B. Miller, 84, of Aurora passed away suddenly November 2, 2003 at his home. He was born June 23, 1919 in Indianola, Iowa, the son of Walden and Myrtle (Brent) Miller.

He attended Greenman Grade School and graduated from East Aurora High School in 1937. He served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps, stationed in the British Isles. On August 2, 1940, he married Marion H. Applequist. He was a printer by trade and was employed by Kelmscot Press and the Geneva Republican as a pressman. He was an avid sportsman his entire life. Since 1990, he excelled in bicycling the Virgil Gillman Path daily and walking the far west side of Aurora. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his three daughters, Joanne (Ronald) Cox, Barbara (Wesley) Frisch both of Oswego and Susan (Ken) Mitchell of Reno, Nevada; seven grandchildren, Catherine (Kevin) Hanratty, Cindy (John) Benson, Christopher (Denise) Cox, Michelle (Champ) Evans, Lisa Frisch, Tawnia (Darrin) Tuxon and Michelle (Kris) Danforth; seven great grandchildren; a niece, Diane (Cliff) Byrum of Oswego; and two nephews, Thomas and Robert Spring of San Diego.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion in 1990; his parents; a brother, Brent Miller; and a sister, Betty Jean Spring.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at 10:30 AM from The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora with Rev. Martha J. Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 from 3 to 7 PM at the Healy Chapel, Aurora.
