Mrs. Mitchell is a graduate of the Mound City High School and has her Degree as Bachelor of Science from the State College at Marysville and took work at the University of Chicago. For the last three years she has been employed as a member of the high school faculty of Gallatin, Mo. Mr. Mitchell is a graduate of the Univeristy of Missouri with a Master's Degree and has charge of the Production Credit* Administration for the State in Davies County, with his office in Gallatin. | News/Obit* | after 11 June 1996 | Kenneth Mitchell Kenneth Mitchell, age 90, of St. Joseph, died Sunday, June 9, 1996, at his home. He was born in Kansas City, Kan., on Feb. 23, 1906. He graduated from Culver Stockton College in Canton, Mo., and received a master's degree in secondary administration from the Univeristy of Missouri in Columbia. On July 22, 1939, he married Marian VanVickle in Holton, Kan. The couple lived in the Gallatin and Hamilton, Mo., area. After retiring they moved to St. Joseph, living here and Sun City West, Ariz. Mr. Mitchell was superintendent of schools in Holton Mo. From 1936 to 1971 he was county supervisor of the Farmers Home Administration in Daviess County, Mo. Preceding Mr. Mitchell in death were his parents, Ross and Selma Anderson Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife; a sister-in-law, Melba VanVickle, of St.joseph; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment were held June 11, 1996, at Mt.Hope Cemetery, Mound City,Mo. Pallbearers were Gene Miller, Randy Miller, and Stephen VanVickle. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association. Services were under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel of St. Joseph.1 |
