News/Obit* 16 March 2005  Wallace Ernest Spotts, 86, of Wooster, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, in Heritage Park Nursing Home.

Born April 22, 1918 on the family farm, he was the son of Ernest S. and Lila May (Bower) Spotts.

He was a farmer and drove truck for a moving company. He taught a lot of young pilots as a flight instructor including John Glenn who became a life long friend.

He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church.

He served his country with the Army Air Corps during World War II as a flight instructor in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He was a member of the Federal Aviation Administration for many years.

Surviving are a son, Brian (Tami) Spotts of Polk; daughters, Becky (Dave) Grube of Mount Pleasant, Mich., Carol (Paul) Isaacs of Marysville and Anne (Ed) Giles of Ruidoso, N.M.; six grandchildren, Christopher and Tarah Spotts, Jason (Julie) Isaacs, Darek (Tabitha) Isaacs, and Elizabeth and Michael Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Joseph Isaacs; sister, Martha (William) Watson of Powell, and special friends, Marilyn Chance and Don "Boze" Fasig.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Winifred (Wylie) Spotts and a daughter, Linda Murphy.

Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster, on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m.

Services will be held at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Friday, March 18, 2005, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Caler officiating. Interment will follow in Reedsburg Cemetery.

Those who wish may make contributions to St. Peters Lutheran Church, 9451 Ashland Road, Wooster 44691 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
