ELOISE V. ALSPAUGH, 79, died Saturday at Van Wert County Hospital. Born in Springfield, she was a computer programmer and systems analyst for the U.S. government and a World War II WAVES veteran. Surviving are her husband, Ned; and three nieces, Jane Roth-wall of Silverdale, Wash., Judy Weigand of Walnut, Calif., and Susan Mercer of Diamond Bar, Calif. Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm, with calling one hour before services. Calling also from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Ind. Eloise V. Alspaugh, 79, of Willshire, Ohio, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.

The Springfield, Ohio native served as a Wave in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst for the United States government. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Schumm, the Evergreen Garden Club, American Legion in Van Wert, and Elks Club in Celina. Surviving are her husband, Ned; and three nieces. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Schumm. Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

News/Obit 24 February 2003  WILLSHIRE - Eloise V. Alspaugh, 79, of rural Willshire died unexpectedly at 5:24 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at the Van Wert County Hospital emergency room. She was stricken at her home. She was born Oct. 3, 1923, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Robert A. Vanderburg and Esther E. Snyder. On Feb. 28, 1948, in Springfield, she married Ned Alspaugh, who survives. Mrs. Alspaugh, who served as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during World War II, worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst for the U.S. government. Other survivors include: Sister-in-law - Helen Fetters of Berne, Ind. Three nieces, Jane Rothwall of Silverdale, Wash., Judy Weigand of Walnut, Calif., and Susan Mercer of Diamond Bar, Calif., also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm, the Rev. Robert Becker officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Schumm. Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Ind., and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Online condolences may be sent to funeralinfo@zwickjahn.com.

Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday in ZWICK & JAHN FUNERAL HOME, Decatur, Ind., and 1 hour prior to 11 a.m. Wednesday service, February 26, 2003 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm with Rev.
